How do I get started playing padel?

What are the basic padel rules?

What level am I at padel?
Three broad stages: Beginner (0.5–2.0 on Playtomic — learning technique and scoring), Intermediate (2.0–4.5 — consistent rallies, intentional glass use, structured net play) and Advanced (4.5+ — constructs points, controls tempo, plays as a seamless pair). What is the bandeja shot in padel?
The bandeja is padel’s most important overhead — a controlled slice played when your opponents lob you. Continental grip, sideways stance, high-to-low swing, land deep. Who invented padel?
Padel was invented by Enrique Corcuera in 1969 at his home in Acapulco, Mexico. He built the first court in his garden with walls because the space was too small for tennis. His wife Viviana wrote the first rules as a birthday gift. The sport spread to Spain via Prince Alfonso of Hohenlohe and to Argentina via Julio Menditeguy, then to the rest of the world. Is padel growing in the UK and USA?
Yes in both. The UK is padel’s second fastest-growing sport — courts have grown from a handful to hundreds since 2019. The USA crossed 1,000 courts in 2025–2026 across 37+ states, with over 1 million active players. Florida, California and Texas lead the US market.
