Washington D.C. landed a major padel milestone in 2026: the Matrix — a Pro Padel League franchise — relocated from Arkansas to D.C. ahead of the 2026 season. The women-led ownership group chose DC because of its international makeup and global identity. The team will compete in five North American events, with DC hosting matches and fan activations from 2027. The National Padel League is also using DC as a host city for its USA Team League this year.
