Where to Play Padel in Cardiff | 2026 Court Guide & Reviews
Updated September 2026 · Cardiff & South Wales
Cardiff is Wales’s padel capital, and 2026 is the year the city’s scene properly arrived. Existing venues include Padel Cardiff, House of Sport and courts at Cardiff Tennis Centre, while the headline opening — Padium Cardiff — is now open. It launched on 14 March 2026 with 8 indoor courts across a 35,000 sq ft purpose-built centre at Cardiff Bay Retail Park, making it the largest and most significant dedicated padel facility in Wales. Cardiff’s padel had grown organically through tennis club add-ons; Padium changed that overnight.

Opened 14 March 2026, Padium Cardiff is a purpose-built dedicated padel centre from the premium London operator Padium (which also runs venues in West Brompton and Vauxhall). Eight indoor courts across 35,000 sq ft make it comfortably the largest padel facility in Wales — Cardiff’s first multi-court, professionally operated padel destination rather than courts bolted onto an existing sports facility. Premium glass-walled courts, coaching programmes and social spaces. Books via the Padel Mates app rather than Playtomic — download it before visiting.
Padel Cardiff

Padium Cardiff: Wales’s first dedicated padel centre
Padium Cardiff opened on 14 March 2026 as the headline padel development in Wales — a purpose-built dedicated padel centre from the premium London operator Padium (which also runs venues in West Brompton and Vauxhall). Eight indoor courts across 35,000 sq ft at Cardiff Bay Retail Park give Cardiff its first multi-court, professionally operated padel destination, rather than courts added to an existing sports facility.
Padium venues are known for premium glass-walled courts, professional coaching, social spaces and a strong community programme. The Cardiff site books via Padel Mates rather than Playtomic — download the app before visiting. Check padium.co.uk for opening hours and membership options.
The opening has put Cardiff firmly on the map as a serious padel city, substantially increasing the number of courts, coaching options and competitive play available across South Wales.
Padel across South Wales
Cardiff dominates Welsh padel but is not the only option. Tennis Wales partnerships are bringing courts to clubs across South Wales. Swansea and Newport both have venues in planning or development for 2026. For the most current picture of courts outside Cardiff, the LTA Padel court finder at ltapadel.org.uk is the most reliable source.
